It rained enough to settle the dust at the Stuber Ranch near Bowman, N.D. Good thing too for there was a lot of traffic around to partake in the 49th Annual Sale. These cattle have a good first impression. They are phenotypically pleasing in all aspects while carrying some of the leading genotypes in the Hereford industry. The cattle are made to be useful in all terrain while fabricating a product that'll feed and finish at a high level. I was impressed with the quality clear down into the commercial side of things and it is no mystery why the Stuber Ranch has been doing this for almost 50 years. Congratulations on the great sale and report here is the cream of the crop from fall bulls to yearling bulls and heifers:
Lot 185, SR Sustain 1855 C, caught the eye of Milligan Herefords of Kings, IL for $18,000. His sire is Churchill Sensation 028X that was born 9/8/15 at 83 pounds and was 681 pounds on his ADJ 205. His EPDs were BW 2.1, WW 55, YW 85, and Milk 35.
Lot 75, SR Sustain 756D, was sold to Rankin & Sons, Inc of Draper, SD at a whopping $17,000. Another Churchill Sensation 028X son that stood out with EPDs of BW 3.3, WW 67, YW 101, and Milk 39. He was born 2/26/16 at 90 pounds and was 858 pounds on his ADJ 205.
Lot 28, SR Stockman 286D, was sold to Churchill Cattle and Texas Star Dance Cattle LLC of Manhattan, MT for $10,000. C Stockman 2059 ET is his sire. His EPDs include BW 4.4, WW 59, YW 97, and Milk 36; he was born 3/17/16 at 85 pounds and 752 pounds on his ADJ 205.
Buford Ranches of Hominy, OK hit the dinger at $9,000 for Lot 16, SR Dispatch 166D. This bull was born 3/14/15 at 93 pounds and was 779 pounds ADJ 205. His EPDs are BW 4.4, WW 64, YW 108, and Milk 33. His sire is BCC Billy the Kid 330A.
Selling for $9,000 was Lot 183, SR Dispatch 1835 C, to Tulp Cattle Co of Westminster, CO. He is sired by BCC Billy the Kid 330A and was born 9/3/15 at 89 pounds and was 701 pounds on his ADJ 205. His EPDs include BW 4.4, WW 46, YW 78, and Milk 29.
The high female was Lot 6147, SR Manella 6147D, who sold to Churchill Cattle and Texas Star Dance Cattle LLC of Manhattan, MT for $15,000. She's a daughter of C Stockman 2059 ET that was born 5/10/16 at 91 pounds and was 606 pounds on her ADJ 205. Her EPDs are BW 4.3, WW 55, YW 86, and Milk 35.
Next female to stop the show was Lot 654, SR Rhonda 654D. She sold for $13,000 to Roger Jennings of Palmyra, IL. Her sire is SR Right On 2203 Z ET and she has EPDs of BW 3.5, WW 58, YW 79, and Milk 33. She was born 3/31/16 at 96 pounds and was 675 pounds on her ADJ 205.
Mr. Jennings of IL wasn't done yet, he bought Lot 6119, SR Scopia 6119D, for $10,000. She's a daughter of Churchill Sensation 028X that posted EPDs of BW 1.5, WW 48, YW 73, and Milk 32. She was born 4/17/16 at 79 pounds and 557 pounds on her ADJ 205.
