15th Annual WY Women’s Ag Symposium to be held Nov. 20
For 15 years, the Wyoming Women’s Ag Symposium has educated and entertained rural women involved in agriculture. The symposium will begin Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Petroleum Club in Casper with a sandwich buffet and cash bar. At 7 p.m., Paul Starrs, author of Let the Cowboy Ride, will discuss ranching and how it fits into the “New West.”
This event is free, but a heads up is appreciated before you attend. Folks in town for the AgXpo are invited to attend.
The symposium continues on Nov. 21 with registration at 8 a.m. at the Three Trails Room at the Casper Events Center. The cost is $20 including lunch, $25 after Nov. 14.
At 9 a.m., the Keynote Speaker is Karen McCaa addressing the importance and power of a positive attitude. “There’s very little difference between all of us, but that little difference makes a big difference and it’s our attitude,” she says.
Breakout sessions include:
– Terry Cleveland, “Predator Management, what’s legal and what’s not” plus he will answer wildlife questions.
– Cole Ehmke, “Starting Your Own Business in Wyoming” – the tools you will need to diversify and where you can get them.
– Karen McCaa, “Building Meaningful Relationships” and the skills needed.
– Panel discussion with Andy Rose on “Alternative Energies: Options for your ranch – wind, solar and geothermal.”
Lunchtime entertainment is Andy Nelson, cowboy poet and humorist.
A Christmas shopping trade show will feature ranch families who successfully diversified and have their products to sell. Wyoming Women in Ag Sweatshirts and T-shirts are also available.
