2010 NILE hosts Northern Range Roping Finals

Ranch Roping is once again an anchor event for the Northern International Livestock Exposition (NILE). Northern Range Ranch Roping Series (NRRRS) is joining with NILE during the fall show to hold its series finals at MetraPark in Billings, MT.

Ranch Roping is an equestrian event based on the need to catch and restrain cattle for doctoring on the range with no facilities available. From that necessity has grown this competition that encourages and rewards quiet stock handling, good horsemanship and unique rope handling.

Ranch Roping has rapidly caught on across the world, and articles about it have played prominently in horse magazines from France, Germany and Italy, as well as our own Western Horseman magazine and the new magazine, The Cowboy Way.

Northern Range Ranch Roping Series has pursued a goal of refining the event to test the skills of competitors and horses and to provide unique entertainment.

This NILE event takes place Oct. 15 and 16 in the Buckaroo Businesses Arena at Metra’s Super Barn.

The Youth and Intermediate division will be held on the Oct. 15 starting at 9 a.m., and the Open division will be held on Oct. 16 also starting at 9 a.m. In addition to some of the best roping you have ever seen, there will be a benefit auction, a Calcutta, sponsor exhibits and concessions. Admission is free!
