The Central States Fair Board held their annual meeting Monday, March, 28, 2011 at the Fine Arts Building in Rapid City, SD. The meeting was called to order by president Dan Dryden, who then introduced board members. Central States Fair general manager Ron Jeffries introduced his staff and praised them for all they do.

Many are unaware of all the events that take place at the Central States Fair. According to Jeffries, the fairgrounds are used 259 days out of the year, not including the 10-day Central States Fair or the 20-day Black Hills Stock Show. For this reason, the Board of Directors, office crew, maintenance team and volunteers are extremely important.

John Walker, certified public accountant with Ketel Thorstenson LLP, provided a financial report. Old business, new business and an awards presentation rounded out the evening meeting.
