2012 PRCA Xtreme Bulls Tour returns to Black Hills Stock Show Rodeo on Jan. 27-28
RAPID CITY, SD – The national PRCA Xtreme Bulls Tour Presented by B&W Trailer Hitches returns to Rapid City on Jan. 27-28 at the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo for the 6th Annual Rapid City Xtreme Bulls. Seventy of the world’s top bull riders will converge on the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center to compete for $52,000.
The star-studded field will include 18 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) bull riding qualifiers as well as 2007 PRCA World Champion and 2010 Xtreme Bulls Tour Champion Wesley Silcox of Santaquin, UT. Also scheduled to compete are Xtreme Bulls Tour Champions Zeb Lanham (2006), of Sweet, ID, and Kanin Asay (2007), of Powell, WY. Rapid City will mark the return to the Xtreme Bulls Tour of the popular Asay who was sidelined much of the 2011 season by injury. South Dakota bull riders Ardie Maier, Corey Maier and John Jacobs of Timber Lake, Shawn Coleman of Springfield, Tater Hins of Huron, Garrett Vig of Newell, Charles Zoss of Forestburg and Taylor Cowan of Ft. Pierre are also slated to compete.
Rapid City will also welcome the baddest, meanest, rankest one-ton athletes in the world. These bulls have bucked off cowboys at the largest rodeo venues in the world, including the Wrangler NFR in Las Vegas, the San Antonio (TX) Stock Show & Rodeo, Cheyenne (WY) Frontier Days and more.
The Xtreme Bulls Tour format features 70 riders competing in a two-day event. Each night, 35 cowboys will participate in a long-go with the top 10 riders brought back for a short round. The Rapid City champion will be crowned based on the highest average score from both nights of competition.
Performances on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28 begin at 7:30 p.m. (CT).
Tickets for the Rapid City Xtreme Bulls event can be purchased by calling 1-800-GOT-MINE or by going online at http://www.gotmine.com.
