The 2014 Fulton Performance Horse and Production sale was held Aug. 22, 2014 with a large, energetic crowd in attendance, ready to bid on some of the country’s top bloodlines at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine, Neb. The 2014 sale produced the highest sale average so far for the offspring of the two Fulton Ranch sires, A Streak Of Fling and CS Flashlight.

With A Streak Of Fling closing in on $1 million in offspring earnings and being named the #7 Barrel Sire For All Ages, All Divisions for 2013 according to Equistat, the interest in his colts from top trainers and riders throughout the country remained strong. The A Streak Of Fling two Year Olds were in high demand, fetching an average of $18,350. CS Flashlight has already sired multiple stakes winners on the racetrack and winners in the arena, so his two Year Olds proved to be valuable commodities as well, bringing in an average of $12,714. The first crop of two year olds by CS Flashlight crossed on the daughters of A Streak Of Fling were especially well received, averaging $14,000 each.

Topping the sale was the sharp looking red roan two year old daughter of A Streak O Fling, Lenas Last Streaker, who caught the eye of everyone in attendance with her striking looks and top-shelf breeding. Her dam Easy April Lena, is not only by the great performance sire Doc O Dynamite, but is a full sister to Rachael Myllymaki’s multi NFR qualifier horse, Easy Does It Doc. In today’s age of embryo transfer, those high quality mares are worth a mint and Lenas Last Streaker proved that, going for $26,500. She was consigned by Fulton Ranch and purchased by Deloris Adamson of Nebraska.

The second high seller, Blue Streakin Chick, was a riding son of a gun, ready to sell. The two year old daughter of A Streak Of Fling son, Streakin Pac Bar, rode soft and light and was ready to go any direction. Out of the Love Chick Blues mare, Hickory Chick Blues, the bay roan mare garnered a top bid of $24,500. Blue Streakin Chick was consigned by guest consignor, Jennilee Thompson, and sold to Katie Holt from Texas.

The third high seller, was another well bred two year old daughter of A Streak Of Fling out of the great Fulton Ranch mare, CCC Sissy Chex, who is by Bueno Chex Imp. The red dun filly showed the class everyone wants in a performance horse or broodmare and had the build to go do it. Consigned by the Fulton Ranch this good filly went to Paul Anderson from Illinois.

In yet another sign of the strength of the performance horse market, the weanlings of A Streak Of Fling averaged a whopping $10,571 and the CS Flashlight weanlings averaged a brisk $8,125. The top selling weanling of the sale was Fling Ta Famous, who Gary Langford from Florida went to $13,000 to buy this stud prospect from Lisa Fulton and Kelly Gorrell. This full brother to superstar mare, Fame Fling N Bling, who has won over $200,000, should be a great performer and sire down there road.

The Overall average of the 54 head sold was $12,117. The A Streak Of Fling yearlings averaged $11,750 and the CS Flashlight yearlings averaged $8,367. For more information and results, go to http://www.fultonranch.com.
