3C Christensen & NLC Ranch Simmental 40th Annual Production Sale

The 3C Christensen and NLC Simmentals presented an excellent set of cattle for their 40th annual production sale. The sale was held at the ranch south of Wessington, SD, in their newly constructed, heated sale facility. John and Peggy Christensen with daughters Cam and Carly make up 3C Christensen ranch. Another daughter, NaLani, and husband Rick Dunsmore make up NLC Simmentals.

The sale offering consisted of a very stout set of yearling bulls and top quality open heifers. This was the largest offering to date of progeny sired by exciting new herdsire, TNT Tanker U263, who sired several top-selling bulls in the sale. Teamed up with other great herdsires such as Ellingson Legacy “Ollie,” 3C Macho, Mr. NLC Upgrade, Mr. NLC Superior and the great female producing Meyer 734, and the genetic roster reads like a “who’s who” of the Simmental breed.

Topping the sale was Lot 2, a 4/6/10 black polled SimAngus bull sired by TNT Tanker U263. This bull has EPDs of BW -3.6, WW 42.2, YW 83.9 and Milk -2.7, with a WR of 113 and YR of 112. He sold to TNT Simmental, Almont, ND, for $12,000.



Lot 1, a 4/8/10 black purebred Simmental sired by TNT Tanker with EPDs of BW 0.5, WW 58.1, YW 105.9 and Milk 7.1, and WR of 121, YR 115, sold to ABS Global, Deforest, WI, for $10,500.

RA Brown Ranch, Throckmorton, TX, purchased Lot 89, a 3/31/10 black SimAngus bull sired by 3C Ultimate U8139B. This bull has EPDs of BW 0.8, WW 45.5, YW 93.8 and Milk 4.6 and sold for $8,000.



Lot 122 also sold for $8,000. A 4/6/10 black purebred Simmental bull sired by Springcreek Black Tank has EPDs of BW 2, WW 30.1, YW 57.8 and Milk -0.1, went to Mandan Lake Ranch, Center, ND.

Lot 8, a black purebred Simmental sired by TNT Tanker with EPDs of BW 1.8, WW 48.9, YW 87.7 and Milk 1.7, sold to Ron DeMers, Colome, SD, for $7,500.

Lot 99, a 3/8/10 black SimAngus bull sired by Mr. NLC Sonic T7811 sold for $7,500 to MGM Enterprise, South Sioux City, NE.
