American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum receives excellence honor

The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum in Amarillo consistently received outstanding reviews from TripAdvisor travelers.

TripAdvisor announced the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum of Amarillo as a recipient of the 2014 Certificate of Excellence, which is offered to businesses and attractions that consistently earn outstanding feedback from TripAdvisor travelers.

“It’s an honor to be recognized for doing a job you truly enjoy. Every day we work hard to make sure our visitors understand the America Quarter Horse’s story and the impact he has had on the history of our country,” said Crystal Phares, curator for the museum. “It’s wonderful to hear our AQHA members share how much they enjoy learning the legend of the breed honored in the Hall of Fame, but to have visitors who may not have been near a horse rank your museum this high, you’re grateful they enjoy the story you’re telling.”

In the reviews on TripAdvisor, many travelers noted the top-notch facility and informative American Quarter Horse history the museum offers visitors.

“What a great tribute to the American Quarter Horse. The facility itself is amazing and very well done,” Cliff C. of Nara Visa, New Mexico, wrote on TripAdvisor. “The history of the horses and the people is top- notch all the way. The staff could not be more friendly.”

Renovated in 2007, the museum’s features include a grand hall lined with the legends of Quarter Horse history, interactive exhibits designed to entertain, and a theater, to name a few.

The museum also hosts a variety of exhibits, including the current exhibit, “War Horses: Bred to Serve.” This exhibit shows how the United States government and a group of Quarter Horse breeders worked together to advance the bloodlines of the Quarter Horse and mount the nation’s cavalry on great American horses.

Later this year, horse enthusiasts can look forward to the National Day of the Cowboy and the America’s Horse in Art Show & Sale. To plan your trip to the museum and learn more about future events, visit http://www.aqha.com/museum.
