American Royal seeks media interns
The American Royal Livestock Show, Kansas City, Mo., seeks four media interns for this year’s event.
Applying students must be enrolled as a college undergraduate and a personal laptop and digital camera are required.
Writers, photographers, social media gurus or livestock enthusiasts hoping to sharpening media coverage skills are encouraged to apply.
Interns will attend shows and events, write human interest stories, contribute to the American Royal blog, generate content and manage social media platforms, shoot candid photos and assist breed associations with recording show results.
Two students will be selected to cover each week of the livestock show.
Week 1 is Oct. 23 – 26, Week 2 is Oct. 30 – Nov. 2
The students chosen to intern will receive a $500 scholarship, lodging and experiences that simply can’t be gained in a classroom.
To apply, email a cover letter indicating intern week preference, resume, and two work samples to Kylee Deniz at firstname.lastname@example.org by Sept. 17.
Selected interns will be notified by Oct. 1.
