Tyler Melroe, Britton, S.D., judged the Sioux Empire Farm Show Angus Show Jan. 27 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Melroe chose lot 52, K&J Insight 135, a consignment from K&J Angus, Larchwood, Iowa, as champion bull. He was sired by PVF Insight 0129 and out of PVF Proven Queen 3006. He was the second highest selling bull for $7,750 to Larry Mines, Pukwana, S.D.

Reserve champion bull went to lot 23, Bullerman Unanimous 1587, a consignment from Bullerman Angus, Adrian, Minn. He was sired by Vision Unanimous 1418 and out of KAF Miss Blackbird 004-K301. He sold to JJ VonHolturn, Luverne, Minn., for $4,500.

The highest selling bull was lot 46, a consignment from Bruhn Angus, Manning, Iowa. He sold to Eric Stricherz, LaBolt, S.D., for $8,000.

Melroe chose lot 7, K&J Forever Lady 585, a consignment from K&J Angus, as champion female. She was sired by PVF Insight 0129 and out of K&J Forever Lady 71. She was the second highest selling female and sold to Jesse Larson, Hamill, S.D., for $4,400.

Melroe chose lot 10, SF Blueblood Lady 515, as reserve champion female. She was consigned by Scholtz Farm Angus, Comfrey, Minn. She was sired by Vin-Mar O’Reilly Factor and out of Greimans Blueblood Lady 60. She sold to Scott Eisenhauer, Center, Neb., for $3,600.

The highest selling female was a consignment from Bullerman Angus and sold for $5,000 to Scott Eisenhauer.

Al Conover, Baxter, Iowa, served as auctioneer for the Angus Sale. He auctioned 36 bulls and 11 females. Thirty-six bulls averaged $3,943.06, and the 11 females averaged $3,036.36.
