Annual KBHB bucking horse and bull sale draws 600 online viewers
RAPID CITY, SD – Sutton Rodeo sold the highest-selling horse at the 27th annual KBHB bucking horse and bull sale on Feb. 1. The black mare out of Wolf Den and Chintatown sold to Bar C5 Rodeo for $3,800. Wolf Den was sired by the famous Sutton Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR)-qualifying horses Justin Boots and Lone Wolf. Chinatown was also a former WNFR qualifier.
The sale featured 50 head of ranch-raised bucking horses including the coming five-year-old colt crop raised by Sutton Rodeo. Thirty head of young bucking bulls as well as 30 head of consigned bucking horses were included in the sale. Each bull and horse at the sale was bucked and immediately auctioned.
Roughstock contestants lined up to take part in the jackpot-style event that included bareback riding, saddle bronc and bull riding. Shane Stevens, Sheridan, WY; Sage Till, Dupree, SD; and Shane O’Connell, Rapid City, SD, took the top spots in the bareback riding. Ty Manke, Rapid City, SD earned the saddle bronc honors. Shiloh Amiotte, Wanblee, SD and Drew Artone, Kinnear, WY, split first and second in the bull riding.
Eighty registered buyers from nine states and Canada were in attendance.
