Badger Clark Days to be held Sept. 25-26 in Hot Springs

Chosen as a “Reader’s Choice Top 3 Poetry Event in America” by American Cowboy magazine, the Badger Clark Hometown Cowboy Poetry & Music Gathering will again put on a great roundup Sept. 25 and 26, 2009.

Held in Hot Springs, SD, this gathering boasts a fabulous lineup of events and performers. Friday at 7 p.m. will be the second annual “Bunkhouse Tales” emceed by Robert ‘Jinglebob’ Dennis. This highly popular event will be held at the Branding Iron Restaurant and Lounge. Jinglebob and his cohorts packed the house last year.

Saturday will see events start at the Mueller Civic Center at 9 a.m. with a Cowboy Poetry Workshop hosted by Doris Daley and Slim McNaught. It’s free, but reservations are requested. This workshop had a ‘standing room’ only session last year. At 1 p.m. the Cowboy Poetry Shootout Contest will provide some of the best entertainment in the area with folks watching cowboy poets compete for a first, second, or third place win.

After a Chuckwagon Supper at 6 p.m., the evening entertainment will start with some of the top performers in the country. The Circle B Cowboys, a Black Hills tradition since 1976, is always a crowd pleaser, and Doris Daley of Turner Valley, Alberta, Canada, is an award-winning cowboy poet with an impressive list of accomplishments. Eli Barsi, based out of Branson, MO, is a singer, songwriter, and a multi-award winning recording artist. Gale Patzlaff from Alexandria, SD will bring the house down with his hilarious poetry.

Emcee Robert Dennis of Red Owl, SD has been emceeing events and performing his own style of music and poetry across several states for many years. He has emceed this event for over 10 years. There will be no doubt in your mind why this gathering was chosen as the Reader’s Choice Top 3 Poetry Event in America.
