Badlands Genetics and Severance Red Angus Annual Bull Sale

It was another very successful day for the Ceynar, Cargo and Fehrman families of Badlands Genetics and Severance Red Angus when they held their annual production sale at Stockmens Livestock in Dickinson, N.D. This is a smaller sale in numbers selling but the quality runs extremely deep all through the entire sale.
These operations are known for producing bulls that will excel in growth, maternal and performance traits. This was a very thick, stout, top-quality set of Red Angus bulls. Both the yearlings from Badlands Red Angus and the 2-year olds from Severance Red Angus are bulls that will add pounds and performance to a calf crop.
Topping the yearling bulls was lot 10, Badlands Soldier 102A, a March 25, 13, son of Red SSS Soldier 365W with EPDs of BW 1.1 WW 74 YW 133 Milk 14 TM 51 Stay 12. This powerful herd bull prospect had a 205 day weight of 777 pounds and yearling weight of 1,405 pounds. Mike Foster, Marcellus, N.Y., was the buyer at $10,000.
Selling at $7,500 to Jay Krank, Taylor, N.D., was lot 1, Badlands PFFR Harvester 13A, a Feb. 2, 2013, son of Badlands Opportunity 53Y. This powerful performance bull posted EPDs of BW 1.2 WW 76 YW 122 Milk 15 TM 53 Stay 13 with a moderate 80 pound birth weight, 820 pound 205 day wt. and 365 day wt. of 1,562 pounds.
Troy Presser, Turtle Lake, N.D., purchased lot 13, Badlands PFFR Loaded 60A, a April 4, 2013, son of PFFR Locked and Loaded 918 for $7,250. Bull posted EPDs of BW 2.4 WW 73 YW 114 Milk 16 TM 52 Stay 9 with an impressive 205 day wt. of 827 lb. and 365 day wt of 1,486 pounds.
Topping the two-year-old bulls was lot 40, SEVE Right Kind Z004, a April 12, 2012, son of Buffalo Creek Right Kind U199 with EPDs of BW -2.2 WW 59 YW 97 Milk 22 TM 52 Stay 15. Shane Lynch, Keldron, S.D., was the buyer at $9,000.
Wade Staigle, Center, N.D., got the next top selling two year old at $8,000. Lot 38, Badlands Capacity 137Z, a is a March 31, 2012, son of UBAR High Capacity 224 with EPDs of BW 1.9 WW 87 YW 151 Milk 17 TM 60 Stay 8.
Selling at $7,000 was lot SEVE Chateau Z013, a 4/16/12 son of Glacier Chateau 744 with EPDs of BW -1.2 WW 48 YW 78 Milk 21 TM 45 Stay 8. Joel Greiger, Arnegard, N.D., was the buyer.
