Baker Hereford Ranch Bull Sale
On a blustery day north of Rapid City, SD, a good crowd of buyers gathered to inspect a fine set of Hereford bulls. Auctioneer Jim Birdwell sold to an active crowd from nine states: California, Colorado, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. Everyone in attendance was treated to a fine lunch and shown a great set of long sided, deep bodied bulls that would work in anyone’s program.
The top five selling bulls include:
Lot 66 for $9,500 to Stangle Herefords of Marsland, NE.
Lot 28 for $7,750 to Rothrock Herefords of Colorado.
Lot 40 for $7,000 to Upstream Ranch of Taylor, NE.
Lot 22 for $6,750 to Quiet Hills Ranch of Marina Del Ray, CA.
Lot 49 for $6,750 to Ron Strumpler of Oconto, NE.
One pick of the heifer crop sold for $5,500 to Bruce Anderson of Valley City, ND.
