Bakers LEMar Angus Ranch Annual Bull and Female Sale

Sale hosts Mike and Leo Baker at the 2010 Baker LEMar Angus Production Sale.

The Baker Family was greeted with a beautiful day and an excellent crowd in the seats for their annual production sale held at St. Onge Livestock in St. Onge, SD.

Leo and Marilyn Baker have been raising registered Angus cattle for 59 years. This past year they were presented the Historic Angus Herd Award by the American Angus Association and were honored by the SD Angus Association with the Breeder of the Year award.

During those 59 years, they have always been committed to producing Angus seedstock that combine calving ease with superior growth, maternal and carcass traits along with fertility and longevity. The bulls in the sale were a great representation of that commitment. There was a great selection of half brothers, many sired by the breed leading calving ease sire SAV Final Answer 0035, a bull that is owned by LEMar Angus and Genex.

The top selling bull on the day was Lot 3, LEMar Final Answer 94W, a 2/14/09 bull sired by Final Answer that sold to Saunders Land & Livestock of Gillette, WY for $8,500.

Lot 18, LEMar Program 79W, a 2/13/09 bull sired by their new herd sire HA Program 5652, sold to T Bone Angus of Brunswick, NE for $8,250.

Lot 5, LEMar Final Answer 17W, a 2/3/09 bull sired by Final Answer, sold to Saunders Land & Livestock for $8,000.

Lot 1, LEMar Final Answer 15W, a 2/3/09 son of Final Answer, sold to Nansels Flying N Ranch of Miles City, MT for $7,500.

Sourdough Ranch of Hulett, WY purchased Lot 2, LEMar Final Answer 16W, a 2/3/09 bull sired by Final Answer, for $6,500.

Lot 10, LEMar Final Answer 62W, a 2/11/09 bull by Final Answer, sold to Dartt Angus of Wall, SD for $6,500.

Lot 8, LEMar Final Answer 38W, another Final Answer son born 2/8/09, sold to Cox Cattle Co. of Valentine, NE for $6,000.
