Bar JZ Ranches of Holabird, SS held their 60th annual production sale in the aftermath of a spring storm that dumped over 12 inches of heavy snow on the area. Muddy county roads, closed roads and detours made travel difficult; Don, Peg and Seth Zilverberg appreciate all who traveled to the sale. Even with the muddy roads and sloppy conditions there was a very nice crowd of buyers on hand from across the region to give the Zilverberg family a very successful sale.

The Bar JZ program seeks to offer calving ease bulls that grow well and maintain superior carcass traits. By raising Polled Hereford, Limousin, and Lim-Flex cattle, the Zilverbergs produce bulls to meet the needs of many crossbreeding systems. For the past several years Bar JZ has placed a strong emphasis on reducing birthweights while maintaining strong performance, structural soundness and carcass traits. The cattle in this year’s sale are evident that they are succeeding in those goals.
