Three Tuesday evening barrel races will be held at the new Copper Spring Ranch indoor arena in August as a prelude to the UBRC It’s All About “U” Barrel Racing Championships Finale on Sept. 6-8 .

The standard course races are scheduled for Aug.13, 20 and 27 with the books opening at 4 p.m., exhibitions from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at $5 each, and the open 4D at 7 p.m. for a $25 entry fee with an 80 percent payback.

The Tuesday evening August races will be held to give racers an opportunity to compete in the ranch’s recently completed arena, according to ranch manager Lisa Anderson. At the same time, it will give the staff a chance to fine-tune the production logistics in the large 146 by 300-foot working area of the arena.
