What a wide variety of top-quality bulls offered this year by Beckton Red Angus. As Cam Forbes stated, it could have been the best offering yet. The bulls and females are representatives of leading genetics in the industry, backed with lines of history in this breed. This year the weather was in our favor as it was a packed house along with busy phone lines and orders. Everyone wanted part of the low maintenance, calving ease, and stayability that this offering will bring to any herd. It is an exciting time to be in this industry and this sale mirrored that perfectly. Congratulations to Beckton Red Angus on a whale of a sale. Here is the top end after the smoke cleared:

Lot 106, Beckton Clifftop A073 C4 sold for $15,000 to Brian and Vaughn Axtell of Anton, Colo. This Beckton Clifftop W692 E3 son has EPDs of BW -2.7, WW 49, YW 87, and Milk 27 while his actual BW was 76 lbs and WW 617 lbs.

Lot 52 made some noise selling for $14,500 to Kerry and Debbie Sheaman of Ft. Collins, Colo. Beckton Accent A243 N3 is sired by Beckton Accent W180 C2 and has EPDs of BW -4.6, WW 58, YW 95, and Milk 18. His actual BW is 71 lbs and he was weaned off at 559 lbs.

Lot 10, Beckton Nebula A203 C4 sold for $13,500 to Kevin and Mary Kniebel of White City, Kan. This Beckton Nebula T398 V3 son is out of an 8 year-old dam and has EPDs of BW -3.4, WW 58, YW 88, and Milk 21. He was born at 73 lbs while weaning off at 588 lbs.

Lot 17 sold for $12,000 to Michael and Rebecca McCormick of Caledonia, Minn. Beckton New Era A466 N2 is a Beckton New Era Y194 son with EPDs of BW -3.3, WW 67, YW 105, and Milk 21. His actual BW and WW were 78 lbs and 645 lbs respectively.

Lot 4, Beckton New Era A344 D2 is another Y194 son who sold for $11,500 to David Stavely of Haswell, Colo. His EPDs are BW -0.5, WW 62, YW 108, and Milk 21 while his actual BW and WW were 87 lbs and 600 lbs.

Lot 16 also sold for $11,500 and is another Clifftop W692 son going to Hall-Pokorny Red Angus in Stapleton, Neb. Beckton Clifftop A180 C4, as we call him, has EPDs of BW -1.1, WW 52, YW 90, and Milk 29. His actual BW and WW were 83 lbs and 643 lbs.
