Butte-Lawrence Co. Fair honorees
The Butte-Lawrence Co. Fair will be held Aug. 17-21 in Nisland, SD.
Since 1984, the Butte-Lawrence Co. Fair recognizes individuals annually as honorees. The 2010 honorees are Alyce Bertch and Charlie Loup.
Alyce Bertch from Spearfish, SD, has been involved with the fair for the past 40 years and continues to offer her services to the county fair. She handles all the fair results as well the entries of exhibits, shows and livestock sale. She was excited to be chosen as one of this year’s honorees as the county fair is something she looks forward to each year.
Charlie Loup from Nisland, SD, has been involved with the fair for 40 years as well. As a 4-H member, he and look forward to the fair every year. Charlie raised his family on a dairy showing dairy cattle and sheep. Charlie has served in many capacities during the past 40 years, and as chairman for six years. Charlie was honored to be chosen as a honoree for this year’s event. He said that like many other families they had one vacation – the county fair – and they look forward to fair time each year.
