Campbell Red Angus Annual Production Sale

Sale hosts Robert and Harold Campbell.

2009 marked a lot of changes for Campbell Red Angus. Harold and Sharon have decided to retire from the everyday tasks of the ranch. Their son Robert along with his wife Kara and their family have purchased the ranch and will carry on the Campbell Red Angus name and cowherd.

The Campbell family has been breeding Red Angus cattle for 40 years. From the beginning they have strived to produce functional cattle that will excel in the real world. They have never chased the fads of the newest AI bull of the day. Instead they have purchased herd bulls from breeders that focus on the same economical traits that they believe in – easy keeping, easy fleshing cattle that will bring in a big calf at weaning time and breed back.

The bulls in the sale were developed with the commercial cattlemen in mind. They were in good sale condition and sold to a nice crowd of new and repeat buyers.

Topping the sale was Lot 30, Sodak Ram Rod 9130-5125, a 4/20/09 bull sired by CBR Ram Rod 4307-7809. He is out of a DKK Addiction N10 dam that has had three calves with an average weaning ratio of 118. This calving ease herd sire prospect has EPDs of BW -3.1, WW 29, YW 59 and Milk 26 and sold to Sodak Angus Ranch of Reva, SD for $5,800 (2/3 interest & full possession).
