College rodeo: Montana State men and women hold the Big Sky Region lead

After the first three collegiate rodeos in the Big Sky Region, the Montana State University (MSU) men and women hold the leads in the overall standings.

MSU’s men have collected 4,816 points and the women’s team from Bozeman has corralled 3,759 points.

The men’s team from Miles Community College is in second place with 4,160 points and the University of Montana Western men are in third place with 3,516 points.



The University of Montana Western women are in second place in the region with 1,841.50 points and the University of Montana women are third with 1,613.50 points.

At this point, Travis Schroth of Miles Community College holds the lead in the men’s all-around standings with 1,204 points and Kate Sharon of Montana State has the lead in the women’s all-around standings.



Big Sky Region rodeos continued on April 22-24 at Dawson Community College in Glendive, MT, and wrap up on May 6-8 at the University of Montana in Missoula.

Contestants are vying for the chance to compete June 11-18 at the College National Finals in Casper, WY, with the top collegiate cowboys and cowgirls from the 11 regions of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association.
