Dakota Environmental to conduct free SPCC workshops

Dakota Environmental, Inc. from Huron, SD is sponsoring eleven SPCC workshops in North and South Dakota. The workshops will attempt to bring everyone with fuel storage tanks with a total aggregate of 1320 gallons or greater in 55 gallon containers or larger up to speed with getting into compliance with the finalized SPCC rule and the proposed deadline extension dates. These workshops will be open to everyone (especially those with over 10,000 gallons of storage) with concerns and/or questions about SPCC issues.

The workshops will consist of a shortened updated version of the power point presentation that was presented at the workshops held in March of 2008, with emphasis on the final SPCC rule which went into effect on February 3, 2009. Dakota Environmental will also be addressing what the ag community needs to do to get into compliance with the SPCC rule and how long they have to do it. They will also have time following the presentations for Q/A. Individual time will also be available for one on one consultation for those who would like to have some assistance in reviewing their current SPCC plans and their need for updating them, as well as the formal external inspection reports that have conducted. Even if you attended the last workshops, this would be a great opportunity for managers and owners to gather information to answer any questions your customers may ask you.

Managers and Owners of bulk petroleum facilities are strongly encouraged to attend even if you attended a seminar last year, because you will probably be the first ones that your customers who don’t attend will call with questions. These workshops are for managers/owners, farmers, construction co., schools, cities, counties, etc.

Dakota Environmental hopes that these workshops will help clear up any questions that you may have had with regards to any new or amended rules and deadlines. If you have any question, call 1-800-888-0423 and ask for Dennis Duvall (cell: 605-350-2311) or e-mail him at dennis@dakotaenv.com.
