DeGrand Angus 2012 Bull Sale
Art and Kathy DeGrand and family hosted their annual bull sale at the Fallon County Fairgrounds in Baker, MT on April 20. DeGrand Angus is a fifth and sixth generation family operation dedicated to supplying quality seedstock to commercial cattlemen of Montana, South Dakota North Dakota, Wyoming and beyond.
The DeGrand family is in the business to sell quality bulls to repeat customers that will not fall apart in the breeding pasture. This is a no frills operation. The calves aren’t fed creep feed, and are not pushed to achieve excessive gains. The sale bulls came to town in their everyday clothes; they were in great working condition and ready to go to the breeding pasture. These bulls will gain weight in the breeding pasture while getting the cows bred. The bulls are bred and managed for fertility, soundness and longevity and are backed with a four-year “No BS Guarantee.”
The high-selling bull was Lot 43, DeGrand 1164 Total, a March 2011 son of TC Total 8107 with EPDs of BW -0.2, WW 58, Milk 24 and YW 96. Mike Sonsalla, Marmarth, ND, was the buyer at $6,500.
