Equine specialist joins UW animal science department
The Department of Animal Science at the University of Wyoming welcomes Jenny Ingwerson as its new equine specialist.
A native of Plattsmouth, Neb., she received a bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Nebraska and a master’s degree in reproductive physiology at Iowa State University. Her family maintained a quarter horse breeding program, and Ingwerson participated in 4-H in open and quarter horse showings.
Ingwerson is teaching equine behavior and welfare this semester in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and will collaborate with the livestock fitting and showing class. She has plans to establish horse judging and western equestrian teams and have a horse judging class in place by spring.
