What a day it was in Mandan, N.D. at Kist Livestock for the Flying W and Rock Creek Red Angus Production Sale. It was trying to be spring outside as a number of potential bull buyers could look through the offering with ease. These bulls and females were specifically selected for performance, soundness, and temperament. The genetics offered were something a little newer to the United States, such as The Cutting Edge, Advantage, and Yukon offspring. This was the second sale hosted by these two Red Angus programs and it will only get better and better. Here is how the top end fell into place:

Lot 21, Flying W Yukon 217Z, is a son of 4DDR Yukon 7154 who sold for $8,000 to Troy Jones. This two-year-old has EPDs of BW -1.5, WW 50, YW 70, and Milk 10 as well as actual BW of 77 lbs and an ADJ WW of 605.

Lot 10, Flying W Klondike 221Z was purchased by Tim Aberle of Glenn Cross, S.D. for $6,750. This is another two-year-old son of the Yukon 7154 sire representing EPDs such as BW -1.5, WW 56, YW 92, and Milk 18. His actual BW was 84 lbs and he has an ADJ WW of 718.

Lot 1 is also heading to Glenn Cross, S.D. purchased by Aberle for $5,700. Flying W Scrimmage 223Z is a RCRA Gridiron 22X son. This two-year-old has EPDs of BW 2.2, WW 67, YW 103, and Milk 17 while his actual BW was 90 lbs and ADJ WW of 720.

On the show heifers, lot 53 sold for $6,250 and lot 54 sold for $6,200, both purchased by Cassie Johnson. Lot 53 is a Flying W XTRA 111X daughter while lot 54 is a Haycow Cutting Edge 055 daughter.
