Foos Angus 21st Annual Production Sale

A big crowd, including many repeat buyers, gathered at Belle Fourche Livestock for the Foos Angus annual production sale. Owned by Bryce and his family, the Foos family has one of the best guarantees in the business, and the bulls are wintered free of charge.

The Foos program is very unique as many of the sires have been bred in their own herd. When they use an outside artificial insemination (AI) sire, they quite often select one of the sons out of one of their top cows.

Bryce breeds his cattle to be balanced in their trait selection, and not extreme in any one direction. Through this breeding process, their cowherd has become one of the real nice Angus herds in South Dakota. Much of their breeding emphasis has been in building better females that are sound and have excellent udders.

Top selling bull of the day was Lot 21, selling to Schell Long Pines Ranch at Camp Crook, SD, for $5,750.
