Forest advisory board meeting to be Sept. 17

Custer, SD – The September 2014 meeting of the Black Hills National Forest Advisory Board (NFAB) is scheduled for Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the Forest Service Mystic Ranger District Office, 8221 South Highway 16, Rapid City, SD 57702. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. and end no later than 5 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

The Black Hills National Forest Advisory Board was established, consistent with the Federal Advisory Committee Act of 1972, to provide advice and recommendations to the Black Hills National Forest on a broad range of forest issues such as forest health, travel management, forest monitoring and evaluation, forest plan revisions or amendments, recreation fees, and site-specific projects having forest-wide implications.

Topics on the agenda for the September 17 meeting include: Rangeland Management on the Black Hills National Forest, Grazing Program Overview and State Coordination, Forest Inventory and Analysis, Northern Long Eared Bat Listing Update, Forest Health Working Group Update and Recreation Facility Working Group Update.
