In their best sale to date, the 2013 Fulton Performance Horse & Production Sale appreciated the buyers who came from 18 states and Canada.

People showed up looking for good prospects to head to the roping boxes and barrel pens across the country. After Fulton Ranch’s A Streak Of Fling was named the #5 Barrel Sire for All Ages, All Divisions for 2012, according to Equistat, interest in his foals was piqued at the annual sale. His riding 2-year-olds averaged a nice $15,708 while his weanlings averaged $12,000.

Topping the sale was lot 10, Streakin French TJ, sired by A Streak Of Fling and out of the good Frenchmans Guy mare, French TJ Grey. The cross of two leading performance sires, A Streak Of Fling with Frenchmans Guy (the $6 million sire), stirred a lot of interest. This sharp, well-muscled mare shows the maturity and class to head to the winners circle in the barrel futurity world. Consigned by Fulton Performance, this nice mare sold for $27,500 to Monica McClung of Oklahoma.

The offspring of Junior sire, CS Flashlight, were also well received. In fact, he was the sire of second high seller, BHR Light My Fire (by CS Flashlight and out of the Shake It Special mare, BHR Missy Special si 93). This quiet, calm, stakes-winning 2-year-old stud – right off the racetrack – has already earned a 90 speed index and $10,755 on the track and traces back to the foundation female line of the highly respected Broken Heart Ranch breeding program. Chad and Lisa Pederson of the Broken Heart Ranch offered this flashy 2-year-old stallion and he sold for $26,000 to Debbie and Mike Hertz of Canada.

The third high seller of the day was a 2-year-old gelding by A Streak Of Fling named Justa Touch Of Fame, out of the Dash Ta Fame mare, Lil Touchafame. This product of the popular cross of A Streak Of Fling on a mare out of the all-time leading barrel horse sire, Dash Ta Fame, garnered a lot of interest. Fulton Performance horses ended up selling this shapely, roan gelding – built for speed – for $23,000 to Barbara Johnson of Arizona.
