There was a good crowd gathering round for the Gaaskjolen Ranch “Building with the Basics” Production Sale in Lemmon, SD. Keith stated in his opening remarks that with the hybrid and purebred bulls, their number one goal is to build better Angus cattle. And I think they’ve been doing just that. These bulls really shined and had that herd bull look. They were easy fleshing, wide topped, and long bodied bulls that had eye appeal. Not only that but they were also out of some of the hottest bulls in the industry. Colonel Scott Weishaar delivered the bid calling in rapid fashion and here is what was on top after the dust settled:
Lot 1, Gaask Resource 5211, headed down the road to Dave Lensegrav of Meadow, SD for $7,250. Sired by SAV Resource 1441, this bull posted BW 8, CED 3, Doc. 8, and Milk 7 on the Igenity Profile. He was born 3/24/16 at 90lbs and has an 808lbs Adj. WW.
The Irving Jordan Family of Faith, SD took home Lot 3, Gaask Resource 5220, for $6,250. Another Resource son with a loaded Igenity Profile of BW 7, CED 4, Doc. 8, and Milk 5. He was born 3/19/15 at 84lbs and was 852lbs on his Adj. WW.
Lot 24, Gaask Thunderbird 5285, also went to Faith, SD with the Irving Jordan Family for $5,750. Sired by HF Thunderbird 146Y, this bull was born 3/23/15 at 88lbs and was 798lbs on his Adj. WW. He scored well on his Igenity Profile with BW 9, CED 3, Doc. 8, and Milk 7.
Dave Lensegrav of Meadow, SD hooked another good one in Lot 76, Gaask Long Distance 5075, for $5,750. A Mohnen Long Distance son with an Igenity Profile of BW 3, CED 8, Doc. 8, and Milk 8. He was born 2/25/15 at 68lbs and was 701lbs on his Adj. WW.
Lot 2, Gaask Resource 5212, was sold to the Irving Jordan Family of Faith, SD for $5,500. This Resource son was born 3/31/15 at 90lbs and was 802lbs on his Adj. WW. His Igenity Profile consists of BW 7, CED 4, Doc. 6, and Milk 6.
