Gillette: New Year’s Eve Buck & Ball
One of Wyoming’s most-anticipated events is fast approaching and promises to deliver the ultimate in competition, skill and family entertainment. The 13th Annual Kissack Water & Oil New Year’s Eve Buck & Ball along with CINCH will be Dec. 31, 2014, at the Gillette, Wyoming, Cam-Plex Multi-Event Facilities – Wyoming Center. This Rough Stock Invitational Event showcase will feature twenty of the NFR top bareback, saddle bronc and bull riders, as well as top NFR stock from four acclaimed PRCA stock contractors.
The Buck & Ball Rough Stock Invitation match is set up in a long round and a short round format. Each rider will test his agility in the initial long round. Results of the long round determine which four riders in each event will go on to compete in the short round, with over $50,000 in prize money up for grabs throughout the night.
With champion bucking stock in the lineup, the road to cash is a demanding one. Four PRCA stock contractors will bring their top stock from the NFR to the event, including host contractor, Burch Rodeo of Rosette, Wyoming, Brookman Rodeo of Sydney, Montana, Sutton Rodeos of Onida, South Dakota, and Powder River Rodeo of Riverton, Wyoming.
The bucking stock at this year’s event stems from lengthy histories of solid breeding and strong bloodlines. All of the participating stock contractors have been breeding bucking stock for decades, with bloodlines that reach back four and five generations. Not only do spectators come to watch the great line of cowboys, but they like to see what top stock they draw.

Along with top bucking stock, this year’s Kissack Water & Oil New Year’s Eve Buck & Ball along with CINCH will also feature some of the nation’s most respected competitors. Anticipated riders include Chad Ferley, 2013 Saddle Bronc World Champion, along with many other NFR qualifiers, Wyoming’s Chet Johnson and JR Verzain, and from neighboring states: Cole Elshere, Jessy Davis, Seth Hardwick and many more premier cowboys.
This traditional event is designed to provide a night of entertainment for families and friends to celebrate the year but to ring in the New Year. After the rough stock event, the ticket purchase also includes the spectators to dance the night away to Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers in the Pavilion at 9 p.m., located conveniently next to the Cam-Plex.
Several community businesses have also shown their support for the event, which has entitled the event to increase production, sponsorship levels along with award opportunities for the cowboys. This elite event will feature twenty of the top PRCA cowboys mounted on top pro rodeo’s toughest bucking stock competing for cash and titles.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and start time is 6:45.
Tickets Available at: Jordan’s Western Dining, Longhorn Tack and Gift in Gillette and Ruff’s Bar in Rozet, Wyoming.
