Gray’s Angus Ranch 2012 Performance Bull Sale
Gray’s Angus Ranch held their 2nd Century Performance Bull Sale at the ranch near Harrison, NE. Gray’s Angus is owned and operated by Rod and Laura Gray and Family. The Grays offered an outstanding set of yearling bulls along with two-year-old bulls. Their experience breeding bulls has made this a proven genetics program. This set of bulls were outstanding from top to bottom. The Grays fully understand the cow-men and -women’s importance to their operation and that the bottom line is profitability.
The Grays focus much of their attention on their cowherd. Females have to be able to survive all the elements and still raise a good calf while breeding back each year. If their cows don’t produce and stand up under their rugged culling process, then she is sent down the road.
The sale bulls were stout, thick, deep ribbed and were fed a growing ration. These bulls were ready to cover the countryside, regardless of the producer’s whereabouts – these bulls had what it takes to get the job done.
The top-selling two-year-old bull was Lot 22, Gray’s Pointer 3470, finding a home with Norma Bruegger from Van Tassell, WY for a final bid of $4,500. This March 2010 son of Gray’s Pointer 2815 was 73 pounds at birth and had an adjusted 205-day weight of 552 pounds. He posted EPDs of BW 1.7, WW 40, YW 68 and Milk 23.
