Great entertainment to be featured at 2008 Days of ’76

Dan Hubbell photoPinball Wizard is just one of the several Burch bucking stock that will be at this year's Days of '76 Rodeo.

Highlighting this year’s Days of ’76 Rodeo will be Miles Hare’s last rodeo fighting bulls, a well-known area clown and specialty performer Jerry W. Olson, and Burch rodeo stock in the bucking events.

This will be the last year for Miles Hare to be one of the bullfighters in Deadwood, SD. Hare has worked the Deadwood rodeo for the past 20 years along with Alan Olson. Hare has been a PRCA bullfighter for over 30 years having worked the Houston livestock show for 31 years and in 1977 he was the youngest bullfighter selected to work the National Finals Rodeo. He was the 1981 and 1988 wrangler, a world champion freestyle bullfighter and has been the bullfighter at the National Finals Rodeo six times. Hare, 51, announced his retirement at this year’s Houston rodeo but told the Deadwood committee in 2007 that he would make Deadwood his last PRCA rodeo.

Hare will be joined by barrel man and clown Jerry Wayne Olson, originally from Belle Fourche, SD and now from Nebraska. Olson will be entertaining the crowd with his golden palomino “Justin Boots” act, his miniature horse act and trick and fancy roping. He has received the PRCA Specialty Acts of the Year award and has been nominated 10 times as one of the top five PRCA specialty acts of the year.
