Hereford Show results from 2009 Sioux Empire Farm Show
Dave Wiesse of Manning, IA judged the Sioux Empire Farm Show Hereford Show Thursday, Jan. 29, in Sioux Falls, SD.
Wiesse chose lot 22, HPH 80P Target 133U, a consignment from Hanson’s Polled Herefords of Conde, SD, as champion bull. He was sired by LaGrand Reload 80P ET and out of LaGrand Lady 63R. He went on to be the third highest selling bull, going for $4,200 to Brad White of Esterville, IA.
Reserve champion bull went to lot 36, JB 293 Braxton Rex 596T, a consignment from Jb Ranch of Wayne, NE. He was sired by Anchor Braxton and out of JB 35 Hot & Spicy 293L. He went on to be the high selling bull, going for $4,300 to Justin Hoffman of Wilmont, MN.
Grand champion heifer was lot 3, ESF 119P Betty 813, consigned by Eggers Southview Farms of Sioux Falls. The heifer is sired by LaGrand Boomer 119P ET and is out of B5CC Miss Stardust 301W. She sold to Kyle Eisenhauer of Wausa, NE for $3,100 and was second high selling heifer.
The reserve champion heifer was lot 11, consinged by Erin Fawcett of Ree Heights, SD. The heifer is sired by Feltons Ozzie 492 and is out of JRR Randi 524R. The heifer ended up selling to Ryan Ollerich of Clear Lake, SD and was high selling heifer in the Hereford Sale.
Chisum Peterson of Pukwana, SD served as auctioneer for the Hereford Sale. He auctioned 24 bulls and nine females. Twenty-four bulls averaged $2,631.25. Nine females averaged $2,444.44.
