House to be in session more days next year
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., today released a legislative calendar for 2017 that shows the House will be in session more days next year than in 2016.
An announcement from McCarthy’s office said the number of days has been increased by the equivalent of three legislative weeks, with the additional days concentrated in the early part of the year to make sure the house “has ample time to enact a conservative agenda.”
There will still be a district work period nearly every month, McCarthy said.
