Jacobson: Red Angus Advocate of the Year
Grapevine, Texas – Recognizing the importance of promoting and elevating the attributes of Red Angus cattle, Gary Jacobson, Jacobson Red Angus, Hitterdal, Minnesota, was honored as the 2015 Red Angus Advocate of the Year. The award was presented during the 2015 Red Angus Association of America National Convention, Sept., 9-11, 2015. Steve Koester, Steele, North Dakota, made the awards presentation.
“He’s an advocate on a lot of levels,” Koester noted. “I really struggle to recall a conversation – ever – where he did not mention how great Red Angus cattle are, especially how awesome that Red Angus momma cow is. He’s a great spokesperson for our industry and our breed.”
Jacobson Red Angus annually hosts a bull sale, and shares with their customers that their goal has been to build a cow herd focusing on maternal traits, with udders, disposition and sound structure as the keys to our selection criteria. Gary has also served in several leadership roles guiding Red Angus groups on the state and national level.
