Jamison Herefords ‘Total Performance Production Sale’

Jamison Herefords, one of the industry’s leading seedstock breeders, staged their all-time record spring bull production sale with their 2011 event. A 60-year program established in 1944, this is a recognized performance herd based upon the economics of commercial cow-calf production and built upon Line One Domino genetics. They are a respected source of cowman’s breeding bulls for breeders and ranchers across America.

Gordon Jamison and sons presented the family’s annual bull sale at their headquarters located in the big ranch country of western Kansas near Quinter. This first sale, following their record December 2010 cowherd offering, hosted a 12-state crowd of cattleman at ringside to evaluate the stock.

Jamison’s is a cowherd program built upon the principles of performance testing, linebreeding and building upon elite cow families. A volume selection of performance balanced, linebred, red pigmented bulls strong in cowherd traits is the trademark of the JA brand.

A hot bull sale from start to finish was fueled by demand for JA Line 1 genetics and quality and the Black Baldie crossbreeding power of Hereford bulls. Cattlemen bid to invest in the predictable blood, efficiency, balanced traits and integrity that are synonymous with this herd and this breed. Large scale volume buyers came from Kansas, New Mexico, Nebraska, Colorado and Missouri. It was indeed, a landmark event for a family that has dedicated a lifetime to breeding great Hereford cattle.
