Jensen & Lehrkamp, LLP 36th Annual Production Sale

Dan Piroutek

Marty Printz of Printz Ranch, New Underwood, SD, purchased several bulls.

The country was starting to green up in this area, after one of the longer winters, as Jensen & Lehrkamp rolled out the red carpet for another production sale. This was the first sale for Mike and Jodie Lehrkamp, after Morrie Jensen passed away this spring. They used the video method this year. They had filmed the bulls ahead of time, and had a screen display of the bulls during the sale.

The Lehrkamps believe in offering cattle that will grow and add pounds to their customers’ calf crops. I watch many of their customers sell their calves at Philip and they generally are right at, or near the top, for price and for weight. Many of these same customers have bought bulls here before I started coming, which was a long time ago.

Two bulls shared the honor of being “top seller of the day.” Lot 801 sold to repeat buyer Bev Taylor from New Underwood, SD for $4,100. He was a son of the very popular SAV Final Answer 0035 and out of a daughter of Plainview Moonshine D11. He was a thick made, calving ease bull with a 74 pound birth weight. His EPDs included +10 CED, -0.4 BW, +43 WW, +24 Milk and +81 YW.
