Kelli Fulkerson joins staff at Tri-State Livestock News
Two staffing changes have taken place at Tri-State Livestock News (TSLN).
One is the departure of TSLN and Farmer & Rancher Exchange general manager Susie Thompson, effective Jan. 10. Thompson made the decision to return full-time to her family’s cattle ranching operation located north of Spearfish, SD.
In the interim, while the company conducts a national search for the next publisher, TSLN will be under the direction of Bart Smith, who oversees the agriculture publications: Tri-State Livestock News, Farmer & Rancher Exchange, Rocky Mountain Fence Post in Colorado, and Plains Fence Post in Nebraska for parent company Swift Communications.
The second staffing change is the addition of Kelli Fulkerson as TSLN interim editor. She began a six-week training period with TSLN Editor Alaina Mousel on Jan. 4, in preparation for Mousel’s maternity leave.

Fulkerson grew up on a small cattle and diversified crop farm in southwest Michigan.
Her passion for agricultural communications derives from her experiences as a National Beef Ambassador, National Collegiate Agricultural Ambassador, Michigan FFA State Officer and various agricultural communication internships. These opportunities enabled her to travel nationwide sharing the story of American agriculture.
Fulkerson’s strong technical communications skills coupled with her wide variety of experiences in agriculture on both a local, state and national level will make her an asset as interim editor for TSLN, according to Mousel.
In addition to her editorial duties, Fulkerson is double majoring in animal science and agricultural communications at South Dakota State University. Contact Fulkerson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
