Kraye Angus 19th Annual Production Sale
On April 3, 2010, the 19th Annual Kraye Angus Production Sale was held in Mullen, NE. It was a nice day for a sale, there was a little bite to the wind, but a good day for buyers and bulls alike.
The top selling bull was Lot 20, an On Target son out of a WAR Alliance daughter, selling for $7,000 to the Starr family at Cedar Top Angus Ranch in Stapleton, NE.
Lot 22, a Final Answer son out of an On Target daughter, sold for $5,750 to Larry Schultz of St. Francis, KS.
Lot 2, an Image Maker son out of a Yukon daughter, was sold to Marvin Cox of Mullen, NE for $5,300.
Alan Smith of Eustis, NE bought the Lot 87 bull, a Hyline Right Time 338 son out of a New Design H81 daughter, for $5,000.
The volume buyer was Neal Kanel of Kanel Cattle Company, taking home seven bulls to Dawson, NE.
Other volume buyers were Marvin Cox of Mullen, 66 Ranch in Brownlee, Keegan Meismer from Paxton, Albert and Alan Sonneman of North Platte and Conrad Lobner from Lewellan, who all purchased five bulls.
Twenty-five purebred commercial yearling heifers were also sold during the sale and they averaged $918. All of the heifers were sold to Doug Sandven of Humboldt, IA.
There was a nice crowd present and everyone enjoyed roast beef sandwiches and visiting with friends, neighbors and fellow cattlemen.
