Lauing wins three saddles at SD 4-H Finals
The South Dakota 4-H Rodeo State Finals held Aug. 27-29, was quite an event for one young man from Oral, SD. Lathan Lauing, a 13-year-old cowboy, won three trophy saddles at the finals. He won the Jr. All-Around, Goat Tying and Breakaway Roping, plus won go-around awards in his events as well.
Proud grandparents of Lathan are Bill and Rose Gingrich of Pierre, SD; Bernie Lauing of Blunt, SD; and Daisy Seachris of Oral, SD.
Lathan has his sights set on more rodeo in the future and is working on his calf roping and team roping skills.
