Lehrkamp Livestock 2012 Production Sale
Lehrkamp Livestock held their 39th Annual Production Sale, Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the ranch near Caputa, SD. Lehrkamp Livestock is owned and operated by Mike and Jodie Lehrkamp and family. The Lehrkamps have a way of picking sale dates that always manage to be on a rainy or snowy day. This year we received much needed moisture in the form of rain, making it a joy to view the bulls in pouring rain!
The Lehrkamps’ great offering of bulls and heifers were in great working condition. They have made a few changes in sire groups, utilizing calving ease bulls with great dispositions that are structurally correct. Lehrkamps encourage their new and repeat buyers to look over their cowherd and see the uniformity in the cows; these cows don’t get pampered. The cows raise a good calf out on the hard South Dakota grass and they breed back year after year. The moisture received sale day made for a good crowd and a great sale day.
