Lensegrav Gelbvieh/Angus Composite Bull Sale

Scott Dirk
Miles and Doug Gardner of Hammond, MT; Dave Bartlett of Hawk Springs, WY; Dave Lensegrav and Quinton Rumph of Biddle MT study the Lensegrav sale bulls.

Dave Lensegrav brought a fantastic set of Gelbvieh/Angus composite bulls to town for his annual bull sale. Dave’s philosophy is to take advantage of all the hybrid vigor possible. These bulls are full of hybrid vigor, that is very evident by the heavy weaning and yearling weight these bulls can achieve. The cowherd is mostly Angus with a low percentage of Gelbvieh to add extra thickness and volume.

Dave is very particular when it comes to the selection of herd sires he uses. The herd bulls must be thick, deep, long bodied and full of red meat. This was a very uniform thick bodied set of sale bulls with big weights and scrotal. If you are looking to add some extra kick to your calf crop, it would be to your advantage to look this set of bulls over.
