Matt Johnson, Garretson, S.D., judged the Sioux Empire Farm Show Limousin Show Jan. 28 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Johnson chose lot 5, ROMN Combat Ready 105C, a consignment from ROM’N Limousin, Arlington, S.D., as champion bull. He was sired by MAGS Zamindar and out of ROMN Rosie 22R. He sold to Laura Sieh, Clear Lake, S.D., for $3,000.
Reserve champion bull went to lot 4, Nolz Woodrow 77C, a consignment from Nolz Limousin, Mitchell, S.D. He was sired by Nolz Mr Windy 11A and out of Miss SYES Goaline 167X.
The highest selling bull came from Symens Bros. Limousin, Amherst, S.D., and sold to Joe and Brenda Mamer, Canby, Minn., for $6,000. The second highest selling bull came from Lura Limousin, Wall Lake, Iowa, and sold to Mike Slaba, Geddes, S.D., for $4,000.
Johnson chose lot 1, Lady Brun Liberty 2874C, a consignment from Bruner Limousin Inc., Winfred, S.D., as champion female. She was sired by Master Brun Guru 2288Z and out of Lady Brun 1738W. She was the only female and sold to Ron Swan, Belle Fourche, S.D., for $2,900.
Chisum Peterson, Pukwana, S.D., served as auctioneer for the Limousin Sale. He auctioned nine bulls and one female. Nine bulls averaged $3,500.
