Lindskov-Thiel Ranch 2012 Bull Sale

Dan Piroutek

Sig and Carissa Martin of Philip, SD, purchased an Angus bull.

The Lindskov-Thiel ranches hosted a full house of customers, neighbors and friends for their 31st Annual Bull Sale held April 21 at the ranch just north of town. Strong winds and warmer temperatures greeted the area ranchers and purebred breeders who came to select Charolais and Angus genetics from the Lindskov-Thiel program.

From Texas to Alberta to California, cattle producers in 13 states and one Canadian province took home purchases. For the first time at the Lindskov-Thiel sale, auctioneer Lynn Weishaar, who has sold all 31 of the ranches’ sales, shared his duties with his son, Seth Weishaar. Together they kept a snappy pace, auctioning off 194 bulls in just a few hours.

The Monte Cronin Family of Gettysburg, SD, was volume buyer of the day with seven Angus bulls. Isabel rancher A.J. Lindskov; John Lake, Gettysburg, SD; Fred and Ray Schopp; and Andrew Sackmann from the Schopp Ranch at Meadow, SD; all took home six bulls each.
