Littau Angus Registered Yearling Angus Bull Sale

Dan Piroutek

TSLN photos by Susan CableMarvin Kramer of Farina, IL purchased the top seller, Lot 211, for $13,000.

Littau Angus, owned by LeRoy and Dawn Littau, and Bob and Becky Littau and their families, along with their mother Betty, hosted a nice crowd on a rescheduled day. The sale just got in on time – another major spring snow storm lied in the wake. This proved to be the real deal as another 20 inches of snow came the morning after the sale.

This was an outstanding set of bulls! They were long-bodied, sound, and not over fed. Several were sired by home-raised herd sires that have gone on and made a name for themselves. The herd bulls, LAR Alliance 64L and LAR Windy 64 423S, have tremendous numbers and have done an excellent job in this herd.

Top selling bull of the day was Lot 211, a son of HA Image Maker 0415. He was out of the mother of LAR Alliance 64L and LAR Windy 4235. Her name is Eileenmere Diamond 16l LAR, who is a daughter of VDAR Traveler 170. She has ratioed 108 on seven calves. This Lot 211 bull had an 88 pound birth weight, weaned at 786 pounds and grew to a yearling weight of 1,343 pounds. Scanning a 13.8 sq. in rib eye, he posted EPDs of +2.3 BW, +55 WW, +31 Milk, and +97 YW. I liked this bull a lot. He had a bull head on him, he was long and wide-topped, and he walked like a bull. He sold for $13,000 to Marvin Kramer in Farina, IL.
