23 Two-year-old Angus bulls: $5,152

37 Yearling Angus bull: $4,142

60 Two-year-old Hereford bulls: $4,050

Brothers Dwight and LeRoy Logterman and their families presented a really nice line up of two-year-old Hereford and Angus bulls along with a great group of yearling Angus bulls for their annual production sale held at Valentine Livestock Auction, Valentine, Neb.

These bulls had been managed with the rancher in mind. The two-year-olds had been run out on grass last summer and managed over the winter without excess grain and pampering. The yearlings were in great sale condition and were very well accepted by the buying public, giving the Logterman Family a very successful sale.

Repeat buyer Merle Temple, Porcupine, S.D., selected a couple of the top two year old Angus bulls at $7,500 each. Lot 40, DL 4097 Really Windy 2072Z and 41, DL 4097 Really Windy 2082Z are both Apr. 2012, calving ease sons of VDAR Really Windy 4097 with very well balanced EPDs, low birth weights and performance -posting over 700 lb. 205 day weights.

Bob Carr, Valentine, Neb., bought the two top selling yearling Angus bulls. Lot 31, LLL Black Cedar 7460-324 is a Jan. 2013 son of VDAR Black Cedar 7460 with EPDs of BW 3.5 WW 57 Milk 28 YW 98 selling for $7,500. Selling at $6,750 was lot 26, LLL Windy 9874-347, a Jan. 2013 son of Crook Mt. Really Windy 9874 with EPDs of BW 0.4 WW 40 Milk 25 YW 69.

In the Herford portion of the sale, lot 2186 was the top seller at $8,500 to Todd Volmer, Winner, S.D. L=5216 Domino 2186Z is a 4/12 son of UPS Domino 5216 has EPDs of BW 2.9 WW 47 YW 79 Milk 27.

Merle Temple got lot 2055 at $8,000. L=8118 Domino 2055Z is a March 2012, son of KB Domino 811U with EPDs of BW 2.1 WW 41 YW 77 Milk 25.

Todd Volmer also purchased lot 2093 at $7,750. L=813 Domino 2093Z is an April 2012 son of F 400 Domino 813 with EPDs of BW 3.8 WW 62 YW 108 Milk 31. Lot 2040, L=5216 Domino 2040Z, a March 2012 son of UPS Domino 5216 with EPDs of BW 1.8 WW 47 YW 76 Milk 30 sold to Duane Keller, New Salem, N.D., for $7,500.
