Ma & Pa Angus Bull Sale
Date: April 28, 2014
Location: Presho Livestock, Presho, SD
Auctioneer: Ron Volmer
Average: 49 Yearling bulls – $5,137
Ma & Pa Angus owned and operated by Steve and Deb Mowry and sons held their annual bull sale at Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., April 28. The Mowrys have worked hard to establish a reputation of breeding sound, functional cattle backed with unmatched customer service.
This is a no-nonsense cattle outfit that believes in the product they produce and strive to help their customers all that they can. The Mowry family places a strong emphasis on “real world” beef production, with cattle that have the ability to grow and perform without being over fed.
The bull offering was very uniform and the bulls were in “ready to work” condition. Calving-ease bulls were highly sought after and a good group of high performance bulls caught the attention of many cattlemen in attendance. Something that was very much appreciated in this year’s set of bulls is the quiet, calm disposition displayed by the entire sale offering.
The top selling bull for the day was Lot 279, a April 13, 2013, son of S Game Day 0218 with EPDs of BW 2.2, WW 50, YW 89, Milk 24 that went to Mike Roster, Spencer, S.D., for $8,750.
