Donnie and Georgia Miller Family held their 17th annual bull sale at the Bales CCC in Huron, SD, on April 16. There was a very nice crowd of new and repeat buyers on hand to purchase this very functional set of bulls.

Miller Angus Farms has been in the Angus business for 88 years. In those 88 years, no outside females have been brought into this closed herd. Through the use of artificial insemination and superior herd sire selection, they have bred a cowherd that has built-in calving ease, milking ability and grow ability. Along with those functional traits comes profitability to the bull buying public. These bulls should produce calves that will be easy calving, easy fleshing, gain in the feedlot and hang a heavy carcass.

Donnie Miller has been in the business for many years and has purchased his customers calves to feed at his lot. Therefore, he strives to produce cattle that will feed and make the grade.

Topping the sale was Lot 19, Millers In Focus D95, a 3/13/10 son of the Miller herd sire Connealy In Focus 4925. This bull posted EPDs of BW 1.6, WW 75, YW 118 and Milk 29 with a weaning ratio of 122 and yearling ratio of 124. Fox Angus Farm, Watertown, SD, was the buyer at $8,000.
