The 2009 Miss Rodeo South Dakota and Junior Miss Rodeo South Dakota Pageants will be held June 29th-July 4th in Belle Fourche, during the 90th Annual Black Hills Roundup.

Two Miss Rodeo South Dakota (MRSD) contestants will be competing for the title of Lady-In-Waiting, and will be officially crowned as Miss Rodeo South Dakota 2010 in early January. Contestants include McKenzie Haley of Winner and Kate Moen of Sisseton.

The Junior Miss Rodeo South Dakota (JRMRSD) winner will reign from July 2009 to July 2010. Four contestants are competing for this title. They include Jessica Johnson of Bison, Brielle Yackley of Watertown, Haley Smith of Rapid City, and Nicole Boomsma of Stickney.

The public is welcome to attend the Style Show at the Belle Fourche Area Community Center starting at 7 p.m. on July 1st, the Horsemanship competition at the Black Hills Roundup Grounds starting at 8 a.m., and the Coronation of the new queens during the intermission of the Black Hills Roundup Rodeo July 2nd. The newly crowned queens as well as the Reigning Miss Rodeo South Dakota Courtney Smith will be at the AmericInn of Belle Fourche for an autograph session at 2 p.m. on July 3rd.
