Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2012 Coronation Ball & Benefit set for Oct. 29

SHERIDAN, WY – The days are being counted down to the Miss Rodeo Wyoming Coronation Ball and Benefit in honor of Kimberly Kuhn as she officially becomes Miss Rodeo Wyoming on Oct. 29, 2011. The event will take place at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Sheridan, WY, starting with a silent auction and social at 5:30 p.m. A dinner, live auction and live music with the Teka Brock Band will follow.

“I hope everyone who comes has a great time sharing in this very special moment of my life,” said Kuhn. “We want this to be an exciting evening of entertainment for everyone. Many gracious donors have come forward with some truly outstanding auction items in both the live and silent auctions. And who doesn’t love dinner and a night of dancing with the Teka Brock Band?”

Kuhn reigned as the 2011 Miss Sheridan WYO Rodeo Queen and competed for the coveted Miss Rodeo Wyoming title during the Wyoming State Fair and Rodeo in August. The Coronation Ball marks the official coronation where Kuhn will take over the crown from 2011 Miss Rodeo Wyoming, Brittany Richards. The coronation itself will take place directly preceding the live auction.

The benefit portion of the evening is the only fundraiser sponsored by Miss Rodeo Wyoming and will help Kuhn fund her reign as Miss Rodeo Wyoming including clothing, travel and other expenses incurred during the year. She will travel extensively across the state and nation promoting Wyoming and the sport of rodeo culminating with the Miss Rodeo America pageant held in Las Vegas, NV in December 2012. Items to be auctioned include a guided elk hunt, fine art, custom furniture, several guns, jewelry and wide assortment of other items.

“I look forward to a fabulous year promoting my two great loves – Wyoming and rodeo,” said Kuhn. “I’m honored to hail from Sheridan and Johnson counties as I embark on this journey that I’ve dreamed of my whole life.”

Tickets are now on sale to attend this exciting evening of food, fun and dancing. Twenty dollars for adults and $10 for children 10 and under includes dinner, coronation, live and silent auctions, and dancing. A $5 general admission ticket is also available for the auction and dance. Tickets may be purchased at Swing Riders Western Emporium in downtown Sheridan or contact Kuhn at 307-630-1540 or Megan Darnell at 817-320-1943.

Table sponsorships are also available for purchase for $450. Table sponsors will receive prime reserved seating for eight, souvenir glasses and the opportunity to have promotional information distributed during the evening.

Kuhn is the 22-year-old daughter of Pete and Vicki Kuhn and a fifth generation rancher in Johnson and Sheridan County. She recently graduated from the University of Wyoming (UW) with a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture Business with a minor in Finance.

While at UW, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, SPURS Honorary, Ag Ambassadors, UW Rodeo Team, and recipient of the National Western Stock Show Scholarship. Kim is a member of Wyoming Rodeo Association, Mile-Hi Barrel Racing Association, Cowgirls of the West, and Big Horn Basque Club. She was honored to serve Cheyenne Frontier Days (CFD) as Miss Frontier 2009, and a leader of the CFD Dandies. Kuhn has earned her Gold Congressional Award.
